It has nothing to do with the stomach acid as you may have previously been taught. It is our indicator of how well your cells are maintaining or how fast they are losing their charge. When there is a pH imbalance it will keep the B vitamins and trace minerals inactive in the body.

The body has different pH levels. The acidity of the blood for example has to be maintained between 7.35 and 7.45 or the person will not survive. So the body will do whatever it takes to keep those levels where they need to be.

If the blood becomes too acidic the body will use calcium to buffer and where does the body store the abundant amounts of calcium in the body—you guessed it your Bones. When excess amounts of calcium is required, and your body has no other option this can lead to osteoporosis.

The optimal urine pH is 7.2-7.5. When on a specific metabolic program and if the pH is not regulating after 2 weeks that’s an indicator that you are extremely inflamed or infected. We need to figure out why and address it.
